Place-based research focuses on understanding the unique setting, knowledge profile and culture of a place.  We combine both quantitative and qualitative research approaches to tell the stories of a place, informing new ideas about how to optimize assets and to cross-pollinate ideas.

Identifying performance attributes of vernacular architecture in the Texas Hill Country

As part of the Pioneer Museum Interpretive Plan.  The research served two purposes:  inform the historic preservation treatment strategy for multiple buildings on site and to develop content for the visitor experience program.

Reporting on vacant buildings / or vacant in this context

Finding underutilized real estate and assessing opportunity based upon neighborhood age-diversity (and other factors).  

Plus - for cities:  a methodology for reporting on the development potential of vacant or underutilized real estate.  Provide qualitative data to make real estate market analysis more robust.
